"Hobby-turned-full-time-job" is a modern fairytale that's been told one too many times. With kafe it was really a decision to be made for a family at crossroads.
What could've been a different career in New York City manifested itself as a specialty coffee shop in Tartu, Estonia - the place we love to call home.
Committed to serving excellent brews we finally opened our doors in May 2024. And while coffee is at the front & centre of kafe, we still aim to please the eye and the ear.
kafe is open 6 times a week for regulars, passers-by, daydreamers and many alike. And yes - four-legged friends too!

We appreciate the delicacy and wonderfulness of a perfect roast but hold the aspect of sustainable coffee in high regards.
This is why we’re proud to be partnered up with Estonia’s finest coffee roasters Paper Mill. In addition to coffee, we welcome enjoyers of matcha (provided by Matcha Bear) and tea (Teministeriet).
Working closely with our suppliers means we can deliver drinks with such quality we’ve grown to love ourselves so much.

This we know for sure: music is always playing in kafe. Not only are we home to exceptional coffee but you can call us a record store, if you will. In collaboration with Estonia's hottest record label kurvad uudised we have put together a selection of vinyl you can purchase to take home with and get a free drink of your choice.
